Do not ever go there and please read this story carefully, because I hope that thanks to it, everyone will avoid danger or the fight for their own life: I arrived in Agra with my boyfriend on September 21st. We were traveling from Varanasi. Our plan was to see the Taj Mahal, which I had always dreamed of. On the evening of September 22nd, tired and hungry after sightseeing, we were looking for a place to eat. As we walked down the street, we heard an invitation. It felt nice, so we decided to eat at Anjana Restaurant. We didn’t check any reviews; we simply trusted the place. I ordered chow mein. For the previous two weeks, I had often eaten this dish in different places. I decided to order it there as well. A few hours later, in the middle of the night, I developed a high fever reaching nearly 40°C (104 F). Soon after came vomiting and diarrhea. At first, I thought it might be dengue or another mosquito-borne virus. In the morning, a doctor was called and took blood samples, which excluded those diseases. I began to feel worse and worse. The diarrhea became more frequent, and I was at the edge of my strength. I was taken to the hospital in a life-threatening condition, with blood pressure of 70/40. I spent 5 days in the hospital, fighting for my health. Tests of stool, blood, and urine samples showed that the cause of my condition was toxins from food that had been improperly stored. After my boyfriend visited your kitchen, I now know that the chow mein I received on my plate had been sitting somewhere in a hot space, which created the perfect environment for bacteria and toxins to multiply. In your kitchen there were also open windows, meaning rats or monkeys could easily enter and further contaminate the food. I hope you feel deep shame for exposing people to such danger by storing food in such unhygienic conditions. I hope you feel deep remorse. My medical expenses amounted to a total of 200,000 rupees. Because of your irresponsibility, I consider my stay in India one of the worst moments of my life. If someone doesn’t know how to drive, they shouldn’t sit behind the wheel. If someone cannot follow the basic rules of hygiene in gastronomy, they should not be running a restaurant. I will pray that people who are unaware of what you are doing remain safe and healthy after eating the food you serve. But above all, I hope this story serves as a warning to everyone so that no one will decide to visit your restaurant. A simple “sorry” is not enough here. For the next several days, or even weeks, I will not be able to function fully on my own all thanks to you. Too pathetic food!!! Staff's behavior and services are not in good manner. Food is nasty but paid high amount. Don't ever suggest this hotel to anybody.
