We went to Alohi Restaurant on September 15, 2025 for lunch. The restaurant is spacious with traditional Assamese exhibits. We ordered a Mutton Thali, a Country Chicken Thali and a Fish Thali. The base thali consists of Aloo Pitika, Khar, Yellow Dal, Black Dal, Vegetable Curry, Fish Khorika and a Mahor (Dal) Bora (Pakora), rice, rice kheer and basic salad (lemon and chillies). The food was good and the recipe was very light, just like home food. While my partner and our guest loved the recipe of the local chicken curry and the fish curry, the mutton curry for me was not meeting the standard. The meat was too hard and chewy. I rarely leave negative reviews, but this restaurant really let us down. The service was extremely poor — the staff seemed uninterested, inattentive, and barely responsive. Even basic courtesy was missing. What made the experience worse was that almost every item we asked for was "not available". We were told multiple times that items were "short" or "finished" — this wasn’t even during closing hours! It's frustrating to visit a restaurant and be turned down on every alternate dish. Instead of apologizing or offering alternatives, the staff just shrugged it off like it was normal. A place that runs out of its main dishes regularly and doesn't care about customer experience doesn’t deserve repeat visits. Worst experience ! I ordered local chicken thali through Swiggy but to my disappointment the food was tasteless and few of the items were stale. Not gonna order from this place again. Service: Delivery Meal type: Lunch Price per person: ₹200–400
