A Soulful Retreat Amidst the Kohima Hills – A Stay at Atara During my recent journey through Nagaland, I had the privilege of staying at Atara, a serene bed-and-breakfast nestled in the heart of the Kohima hills. The name "Atara," meaning "crown," is truly fitting for this gem that sits atop the world, offering solace and inspiration in equal measure. From the moment I arrived, I was enveloped in the warmth and hospitality of the Angami culture. The hosts and owners, Keza and Vikho, embody the essence of their names—Keza, reminiscent of a bountiful harvest, ensured every need was met with grace, while Vikho, symbolizing light, infused the space with her radiant energy and visionary spirit. The accommodations were excellent with modern comfort. Atara is more than just a place to rest; it's a sanctuary for the soul. Whether you're seeking a retreat from the hustle of daily life or a deeper connection to the rich tapestry of Naga culture, Atara offers an experience that lingers long after you've departed. I wholeheartedly recommend Atara to travelers yearning for authenticity, warmth, and a touch of philosophical reflection amidst nature's grandeur. Five out of five stars from me. New in town... Food is perfect Lemon ice tea needs a little improvement to be honest. Momo is filled with meat and not full of onions. Red chilli chutney is to die for. Such calm and neat ambience, one of the waitress was staring us down which made us a little uncomfortable but the rest service is topnotch. Will surely visit with other group of friends for sure.
